Start Date: 1/31/2019Start Time: 6:30 PM
End Date: 1/31/2019End Time: 7:30 PM

Event Description:

What if many of our healthcare issues could be solved not with drugs but with engineering? This is the question to be explored by PBS NewsHour science correspondent Miles O’Brien and director of The Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at West Virginia University Dr. Ali Rezai.

Rezai is a world renown neuroscientist with many ongoing projects related to engineering health, from using micropellet implants to curb opioid addiction cravings to using focused ultrasound to treat early-stage Alzheimer’s. As O’Brien and Rezai discuss these projects, they will also highlight complementary research conducted at Purdue.

Live captioning will be available deaf or hearing impaired. The feed will go live 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the event and attendees will need to bring their own device to access the captioning.
