End Date: 4/8/2019End Time: 2:30 PM

Event Description:
Immigration Procedures-Looking Forward: How Institutions and Communities Can Respond

Patterns of population growth, wealth, wellness, and conflict over the past 30 years have contributed to substantially heightened global migration and refugeedom. The Human Rights Program in partnership with the Office of International Students and Scholars, the "30 Years After Global 1989" event shall also consider how institutions and communities might respond to these phenomena. How have immigration policies and procedures changed in target destination countries like the United States? In what ways might we support scholars who are not free to pursue their academic work in their home countries due to political reasons and concern for their personal safety?
