Event Description:
Safe Zone Training

Join the Purdue Safe Zone community by participating in this interactive workshop focused on building a safe, affirming, and welcoming campus for members of the LGBTQ community. By attending this training, participants will gain the knowledge and skills to create a safe haven, provide a listening ear, and support LGBTQ people. Safe Zone members can display a placard in their office, classroom door, or residence showing that they are a friend to the LGBTQ community. During this 3 hour workshop, attendees will: • Increase their understanding of LGBTQ terminology and symbols, history, concepts of privilege and identity development • Interact with a panel of LGBTQ speakers • Identify resources and build skills to create a more inclusive Purdue Target audience: Students, staff, faculty, and community members Free and open to all students, staff, faculty and community members.

The LGBTQ Center does not publish the location of our Safe Zone trainings due to the limited space for each training. As soon as someone registers for the training, they receive an email with the location.
